Stockholm we're coming.
And it's just the beginning.

There’s something about meeting in person that can’t be replaced. That’s why on August 27, we’re excited to launch our Stockholm Chapter 🇸🇪, creating space for sustainability leaders to build trust, share ideas, and lead transformation.

An itch for many

In conversations with our members, one request keeps coming up (maybe more than any other):

“It would be great to have more opportunities to connect in person.”

And it’s hardly surprising. There’s something uniquely powerful about meeting face to face. The energy, the connection, and the trust feel different than with virtual-only relationships (or at least it takes more work to get there 😊).

We on the TSC team can relate. After nearly a year of connecting primarily online, our first in-person gatherings with members felt deeply rewarding and were a real reminder of how much community matters beyond the digital realm.

On a related note, creating local spaces where leaders can connect regularly does more than provide a chance to share. It puts members in a position to shape the sustainability narrative in their own region, reflecting local challenges and opportunities that don’t always translate across borders.

That’s why creating more space for physical connection and local exchange is at the top of our agenda. And the Stockholm Chapter is a reflection of that.

What does a chapter really mean?

TSC chapters are not about a fixed location or office. They are all about regular, trusted local events where TSC members and qualified peers can come together.

For our Stockholm members, it means a chance to connect more deeply, build relationships, and open the network to sustainability leaders in the area.

Chapters add a valuable layer of face-to-face connection on top of our strong virtual community, making The Sustainability Circle feel even more real and alive.

Meet our Stockholm Chapter Ambassador

We’re proud to have Mikael Salo leading the Stockholm Chapter.

Mikael is a seasoned sustainability executive who has been instrumental in shaping and growing the sustainability profession in Sweden. With a background as a journalist, editor-in-chief, and strategic advisor, he has a unique talent for connecting people, ideas, and perspectives.

Mikael is also the co-author of The Sustainability Agenda and leads ESG diploma programmes for boards and management teams.

His passion for collaboration, human insight, and long-term impact makes him the perfect ambassador to help build a vibrant, inclusive local community for sustainability leaders in Stockholm.

About the event

Join us on Wednesday, August 27, at Maxim, Karlaplan 4 — a vibrant cultural venue in the heart of Östermalm and a truly special place to connect.

In true TSC fashion, we’ll use the time for honest peer support and open exchange on the issues currently shaping the role.

From 16:00 to 18:00, we'll engage in a peer-led session, co-selecting topics that matter most to sustainability leaders today. These discussions will take place in small, off-the-record groups, ensuring candid and meaningful exchanges.

Afterward, for those interested, we'll continue the conversation over drinks and dinner in the theater’s own restaurant and bar (self-paid).

This event is exclusively for senior in-house sustainability leaders. Both current TSC members and qualified non-members are welcome to join.

To maintain a focused and high-trust environment, all RSVPs will be carefully reviewed.

✨ Interested? Sign up now to secure your spot and be part of this event.

🌍 Looking ahead

The Stockholm Chapter launch is just the first step in bringing The Sustainability Circle closer to members globally. Over the next few months, we’ll be opening chapters in more cities, with events already in the works.

These chapters will grow into vibrant hubs for local connection, peer learning, and leadership growth — adding a powerful layer to our strong virtual network and making the community feel even more real and connected.

We’re really excited about what’s coming next and can’t wait to build this network together with you.
